What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?
I have always enjoyed working with individuals and helping people tackle problems. By choosing wealth management as a career, I am able to help clients feel confident about their financial plan and help them analyze important decisions now that will allow them to live their full life in the future. To me, nothing is more gratifying than seeing the client’s goals come to fruition after a life of dedication and hard work.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the BDF team?
I enjoy how all team members are willing to help other team members out at a moment’s notice. BDF is blessed to have specialists in several different financial planning areas. These team members are always happy and excited to share their knowledge with other team members and clients, so our clients are getting the best information available. The “one team” collaborative effort at BDF is one of my favorite parts of the job.
What defines your own personal “full life”?
Living my “full life” is enjoying new experiences with my wife, Sam, my family, and my friends. I enjoy traveling to new places and trying new restaurants around Chicago. I am grateful that BDF encourages its employees to live our “full life”, just as we encourage our clients to do the same.
Who are your role models?
My parents are my role models. As young parents, they provided for my three siblings and me and taught us the value of working hard and treating everyone with the same level of respect. I try to exemplify their thoughtfulness with all of our clients on a daily basis.
What’s the most influential book you’ve read and why?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It is a great reminder that when following your dreams, life will throw obstacles your way and you will need to venture through unchartered territory. However, if you continue to persevere, you will see yourself through to the other side and learn things about yourself along the way. This book has given me a new perspective on how to live my “full life” and how to encourage our clients to live theirs.
