What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?

Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed working with people and helping them tackle problems.  Working in wealth management gives me the opportunity to take part in both things.  I am blessed to be able to work with great clients every day and help them analyze important decisions now that will allow them to live their full life in the future.  To me, nothing is more gratifying than seeing a client’s goals come to fruition after a life of dedication and hard work.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the BDF team?

BDF’s “one team” collaborative approach is one of my favorite parts of the job.  BDF has subject matter specialists in several different planning areas.  These team members are always eager to share their knowledge with other team members and clients, so our clients always get the best information available.

What defines your own personal “full life”?

Living my full life is having the flexibility to enjoy new experiences with my wife, Sam, and my daughter, Shae.  I enjoy traveling to new places and trying new restaurants around Chicago.  I am grateful that BDF encourages its team members to live their full life, just as we encourage our clients to do the same.

 Who are your role models?

My mom and dad are my role models.  As young parents, they worked tirelessly to provide for my three siblings and me.  They instilled the values of working hard, saving for the future, and treating everyone with the same level of respect.  I try to exemplify their thoughtfulness with everyone I meet, including each client I work with.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read and why?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.  It is an excellent reminder that when following your dreams, life will throw obstacles your way, and you will need to venture through unchartered territory.  However, if you continue to persevere, you will see yourself through to the other side and learn things about yourself along the way.  This book has given me a new perspective on how to live my full life and how to encourage our clients to live theirs.
