Baili Roy CFP®
What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?
Money plays a significant role in many people’s lives; however, making financial decisions can feel like trying to interpret a foreign language. I was fortunate to receive great financial guidance from my parents at a young age, and financial literacy is always something I’ve valued. I didn’t realize it could be my career until I found the Financial Planning Program at the University of Illinois during my junior year. I connected with BDF at a school recruiting event, and the rest is history!
Why did you choose to be part of the BDF team?
Upon interning with BDF, it was evident that the entire team truly embodies the firm’s mission and vision daily. This unique company culture, in addition to the knowledge and tools BDF provides, makes both the employee and client experience the best it can be.
What do you enjoy most about your role at BDF?
I love recruiting new team members and working with our clients – I genuinely feel like I get the best of both worlds in my current role. I appreciate that BDF allows team members to pursue their passions and develop a role that plays to their strengths.
What is the one thing you wish every person knew when making financial decisions?
There is not always a right or wrong answer in financial decision-making. Numbers play a prominent role in planning, but they often do not tell the entire story.
Where can we find you when you’re not working?
I enjoy staying active and spending time with my close friends. While I absolutely love living in Chicago, I can’t say no to a good trip to explore somewhere new! I also volunteer with several Chicago-based non-profit organizations that are close to my heart.
