Josh Larson CFP®
What inspired you to choose wealth management as a career?
Wealth management provides the opportunity to get to know people on a personal level and understand how they envision their future. The challenge I appreciate most in this role is working with a client to shape all the big and little pieces unique to their puzzle, creating the picture they dream of.
Why did you choose to be part of the BDF team?
There was a consistent message throughout the interview process of BDF’s commitment to its people. From executives to new hires, the firm showed its dedication to setting the standard of excellence not only in servicing each unique client but in supporting team members to grow personally and professionally. I can attest from the years since then that the firm is proactive and unwavering in their efforts to put people first- helping clients, and staff alike, live their full lives.
What skills or characteristics make you uniquely qualified for this work?
Having spent time in the classroom to become a teacher and the experiences acquired from all my years of coaching, I have found that while subjects may be different, I can apply the same approach in my current role. Each day, I can teach and coach clients through the snowballing complexities of their lives. By simplifying the story, they can clearly understand the opportunities available – empowering them to feel confident in their situation.
What is the one thing you wish every person knew when making financial decisions?
Everything is relative. A choice that proved successful for your neighbor or colleague may not have the same result for your family. The right decision always depends on your personal priorities, situation, and what you hope to achieve- or the consequences you desire to avoid.
What does “Helping people enjoy a full life” mean to you?
It is about appreciating that most of life is far more valuable than dollars and cents. To me, the phrase describes our attention to supporting the people we serve, using our experience and insight as a resource to focus on what matters most to them.
