Kurt Wittmeyer CFP®

Wealth Manager

Why did you choose to be part of the BDF team?

Joining the BDF team was one of the easiest decisions I have made in my life. I quickly realized what makes BDF different, the People. It is a rewarding feeling to be part of a group of genuine and authentic people who work together to help clients achieve what is most important in their lives.

What skills or characteristics make you uniquely qualified for this work?

My natural curiosity and interest in getting to know the people I interact with. I am often labeled by family and friends as Mr. 20 questions. Listening and asking the right questions is essential in understanding our clients true goals and aspirations. As the old adage goes, “We were given one mouth and two ears for a reason”.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read and why?

No Excuses, written by Brian Tracy. It is separated into three areas of life; personal goals, financial and business goals, and personal happiness. No Excuses drove in the point of how important self-discipline is, and the prolific impact delayed gratification can have on an individual’s success over any time horizon.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

I love the fresh air of the outdoors. This means you will usually find me riding my bike around Chicago, playing in a few softball leagues, or out on the golf course.

Who are your role models?

My Mother. Growing up, I never fully understood the multiple hats she wore working full-time hours and raising two quite active boys. Add in being a business owner, and I truly admire the hard work, grit and sacrifice she put into raising a family. From my mother, I learned early on that building relationships is about trust and connection – and with these two ingredients, great bonds are made.  I am proud to say I’ve developed some of my greatest strengths from my Mother.
